Telenor has launched free but limited internet facility in Pakistan in collaboration with Facebook's Internet.org. Internet.org is a worldwide program by Facebook where selected websites are made available to users for free. Pakistan became the 11th country to have internet.org, with Facebook’s aim to spread the project to 100 countries by the year end. This free service has already been launched in following countries; Ghana (Airtel), Kenya (Airtel), Zambia (Airtel), Indonesia (Indosat), India (Reliance), Bangladesh (Robi), Philippines (SMART), Colombia (Tigo), Guatemala (Tigo) and Tanzania (Tigo).
Users can browse 17 websites free of cost. Unlimited browsing within internet.org or its app will be free, however external links, if any, will be charged as per usual tariffs.
How Telenor Customers can browse Free Websites/ Services on Internet.org
Following websites can be accessed by logging on to www.internet.org. You can also install Android app for browsing. While accessing, users will be presented with the above mentioned websites that can be surfed for free, irrespective of location, connection type (prepaid or postpaid) or available internet service (GPRS, EDGE, 2G or 3G).
