e-Rozgaar Program launched to train 10,000 Freelancers in Punjab

e-Rozgaar is an initiative started by the Government of Punjab with the objective of providing training opportunities to youth to minimize unemployment using internet based freelancing. It is a free training, candidates don’t have to pay any fee but he will not be awarded any stipend. Duration of this course is 3.5 months and last date to apply is 05 March 2017.

  1. Technical (PHP Development, JavaScript Development, Web Design, HTML5 Development, Search Engine Optimization (SEO))
  2. Non-Technical (Content Writing, Proposal Writing, Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Internet Research, Virtual Assistant, Email Marketing, Recruitment, Data Entry)
  3. Creative Designing (Graphic Design, Logo Design, UI / UX Design, Books / eBooks)

Who can apply?

Candidate must have complete 16 years of education
Must have a valid CNIC
Should have domicile of Punjab
Good writing and communication skills
Minimum age to apply is 22 years and maximum age to apply is 35 years.

Punjab Schools, Teachers and Students Details are now Online


School Education Department of Punjab has created a web portal to provide information to public about schools, teachers and students. More than 336,000 male and female teachers are serving in about 53,000 primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools to educate about 1,07,90,000 boys and girls students in the whole province of Punjab.

Search Teacher's Details

You can search data about any teacher by entering his name or CNIC number on following website:
CNIC number will give you information only about that particular teacher. But if you are searching by the name, you will get a district-wise list of all teachers who have the same name. You will see School Name, EMIS Code, Post, DOB, Posting in department and school dates etc.

Search Schools Details

Visit following web address:
Click on your district from the map.
A new page will open. Statistics of the district will be given on top while complete list of all schools will be shown below it. You can sort the list by Tehsil, Gender and School Level.
If you want to search school of your village or mohallah from this huge list, press Ctrl+F buttons from your keyboard and enter the name of your village or mohallah in the tiny box appeared. 
If you want further details of the school, click on the Emiscode of the school. Next page will show following details of the school:
Phone number of the school
Head name with scale
Head phone number
Total and covered area of the school
Number of classrooms, sections, computer lab, library and available books etc.
Established year and upgraded years
Basic and sports facilities
Teachers, staff and class-wise enrollment 
Education and present grade of the teachers with their posting dates etc.

Search Students Details

On the above page of the school, you can click on the class number under Enrollment tab. A new page will be opened where details of the students will be enlisted. Presently students data of the most of the schools is not available but hopefully it will also be available very soon.

All Information for Issuance of Computerized Number Plates for Old and New Vehicles

Issuance of computerized number plates have been started in Punjab for old vehicles (cars, bikes and commercial vehicles etc). If computerized number plate for your car or motor bike has not yet been issued, you can get it just by paying the fee at the office of Motor Registering Authority. If your number plate has been broken or lost, you can also get issued a duplicate number plate by paying the fee. Price of computerized number plate for car and commercial vehicle is Rs.1200 while for ricksha and motor bike is Rs.750.


Computerized number plates will be delivered at your home address through TCS Courier Service. If you have deposited the fee, you can get status of your number plate by sending your vehicle number, CNIC number, name and address to 9989.


Use printout of following form to apply for issuance of number plate. Visit nearest Motor Registering Authority Office with duly filled application form, original file, registration book, token tax certificate etc.

Punjab Police Helpline 8787 for Online Complaint Registration


Punjab Police has introduced Online Complaint Service through SMS, Call or Email. Any citizen could contact police helpline 8787 to get a compliant registered in connection with denial and fake registration of an FIR, wrong investigation, illegal demand from an official, illegal arrest of a citizen and illegal confinement. DSP concerned would contact the complainant, resolve the issue and immediately report to the Punjab Police Complaint Centre. 

You may contact the higher officials of Punjab Police in following cases;
  • If Punjab police is not registering your genuine FIR.
  • If Inquiry Officer is not carrying out the investigation correctly and lawfully.
  • If Punjab police has arrested someone unlawfully.
  • If an innocent has been arrested in a case without any reason or someone has registered false FIR against you. 
  • If any Punjab police officer is demanding bribe from you.
  • If Police is using delaying tactics in a genuine complaint.

How to Register Complaint to Punjab Police?

  1. You may call and send SMS at IG Punjab police complaint cell helpline number i.e 8787. Procedure about sending SMS has been given in the image given below. 
  2. Send your detailed complaint to the following email ID; aigcomplaints.cpo@punjabpolice.gov.pk 
  3. You may also file your complaint at official website of the force i.e www.punjabpolice.gov.pk.

Remember that 8787 is not an emergency number. This number is just for routine complaints. For any emergency complaint you should contact on just 15 for immediate response. We request you not to misuse this useful facility just for enjoyment or teasing other. 

Remember that you will have to provide your name, and CNIC number at the time of registering your complaint, otherwise no action will be taken on your complaint. 

In case of difficulty in dialing Punjab police complaint cell number 8787, kindly call at 042-99212609 or 042-99212859.

You may call on 8787 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Punjab police assures you that action will be taken on all genuine complaints as per law.

How to file a complaint in District Consumer Courts?


District Consumer Courts have been established and successfully working in 11 districts of Punjab since 2007. Although these courts are established only in 11 districts, people belonging to other districts can also file their claims in corresponding nearby consumer court. These courts are meant to provide protection to consumers rights. If any consumer faces any discrepancy from any manufacturer, service provider, supplier, shopkeeper, government department and etc, he can file a case in the district consumer court. Justice is available free of cost and within possible short time period to public for resolving their complaints. Consumers can file complaints in District Consumer Courts as well as before DCO (District Coordination Officer).

Consumers can file complaint about any of the following issue:
  • Supply of substandard/ poor quality products
  • Date of manufacturing and expiry or ingredient are not mentioned on any product
  • Non exhibition of price list at the sale point
  • Non issuance of receipt on purchase of anything or any detail is missing on receipt
  • Misleading advertisement about a product or service
  • Non acceptance of warranty
  • Overcharging
  • Poor service

How to File a Complaint in District Consumer Court?

Procedure to file a case is very simple. There is no court fee and you don't even need to hire a lawyer to file a case in a consumer court. Serve a 15 days legal notice on plain paper to the service provider/ company or shopkeeper through registered post. If your complaint is not resolved within 15 days, you may file a claim yourself or through a lawyer on plain paper within subsequent 15 days before Consumer Court. You have to attach the copy of legal notice, copy of CNIC, Receipt (if you have any) and any other proof etc. There is no court fee and no condition of hiring a lawyer. Court may punish the violator with imprisonment up to two years or with fine up to Rs.100,000 or with both in addition to damages or compensation.

How to File a Complaint before DCO?

Consumers may also file a complaint before DCO (District Coordination Officer) on plain paper for violation of; duty of disclosure regarding service or product, display of prices, issuance of receipt. DCO may fine the violator up to Rs. 50,000.

Government to Launch Free Public Wi-Fi in Punjab


Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has given approval for free of charge public Wi-Fi across the province. Free Wi-Fi facility will be provided under “Khadim-e-Punjab Metro Wi-Fi Network Programme” at important educational institutes, hospitals, railway stations, airports, metro bus routes and bus stands etc. 

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the Metro Wi-Fi Network Program will begin from Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore, and eventually expand in other areas of Punjab. The purpose of this program is to promote education in the province with the help of modern technology.

The chief minister also approved a proposal to provide tablets to teachers of mathematics and science subjects from Class-VI to X. Students of Class V to VIII of public sector schools who obtain prominent positions in annual examinations will also be given tablets. 

Chief Minister added that the Punjab Information Technology Board has also started the program of digitalization of textbooks with the cooperation of Punjab Textbooks Board. Punjab government has digitalized all science and mathematics textbooks from Grade 6 to 10, while CDs of the books have also been produced. 

CM Punjab further added, "Information technology is being fully utilized for ensuring good governance. Necessary steps will also be taken for the promotion of information technology for the capacity-building of departments besides improving efficiency of institutions at district level. A program is also being evolved for benefiting from information technology at tehsil and district levels as maximum use of information technology is among the priorities of the government."

The Chief Minister issued instructions for setting up of a committee headed by Chief Secretary for submitting final recommendations with regard to promotion of information technology in provincial departments and districts at the earliest.
